Projects
I co-develop conservation decision-support tools across the efforts below, spanning policy, regional, and organizational collaborations.
California 30x30
Statewide
California's 30x30 initiative commits the state to conserving 30% of its lands and coastal waters by 2030. Working with the California Biodiversity Network, this effort supports the state's Biodiversity Assessment — tracking conservation progress and surfacing where the gaps remain.
Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
Regional
Conservation prioritization across the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, one of the largest intact temperate ecosystems on Earth. This effort develops methods to help partners decide where conservation action can do the most for biodiversity across a complex, multi-jurisdictional landscape.
High Seas Treaty
International
The High Seas Treaty establishes the first framework for creating marine protected areas in waters beyond national jurisdiction. This effort helps bring scientific evidence and data into the criteria behind high seas MPA proposals, alongside researchers working on marine conservation globally.
Trust for Public Land
Statewide & National
Guiding biodiversity conservation investment with the Trust for Public Land, using NASA and open data to inform where conservation funding can have the greatest impact. The work spans conservation finance and land-protection ballot measures at state and national scales.
